Dave is awake and aware. Maybe too aware. He's having quite a lot of pain. The medication makes it "tolerable", but he's quiet... even for Dave.
I read to him this afternoon, I think it gave him something to focus on other than the noise of the ICU and the pain.
He was supposed to be moved to a regular room today, but since there has been quite a lot of space freed up in ICU, they've decided to keep him a little longer. I'm not complaining, he'll get more "personal" care there but I'm going to bring him some music to make the place a little more friendly sounding.
His hands are not as swollen, that looks better some. They must have cut back on the cortisone. He doesn't remember much. He was quite surprised to know that he's been in the hospital a total of 10 days now. He seemed really moved when I read the messages from you all. I will bring him more tomorrow.

On another note,with 4 games left in the regular season,the Habs have never looked better.. They have sole possession of 1st place not just in their division but the conference as well.. 2 points shy of 100! They staged an amazing comeback against Buffalo, down 3-1 with 2:30 left in the 3rd..Just 1 example of some amazing hockey you've missed, but will get to enjoy come playoff time in about a week or so.. Thought ya might be interested..

I still smoke,but not on park benches.You have a bit more support than I can afford to give,so I borrowed some off the cat.She owes me big time.[That salmon eatin' twit].I have recently taken the time to ruin my girlfriends life by making her learn the names of every person associated with star trek.I am uncertain as to whether this has created a bond,or a barrier.I suspect the latter,but shall keep that under my hat,for now.She seems most attracted to men called James,as in West,Kirk,and Bond.This is somewhat disturbing.I have tried other programs.The family Guy didn't help at all.Now she likes guys named Brian.She has also become fond of Sandi Rinaldo and Debra Arbec.The other disturbing thing is that that cat marks her"territory"when Charlie Rose is on.What is that?So you got the pez thing happening?You be well.I will visit within the week.
